Can I block downloads?

Blocking downloads completely is rather a bad idea, because customers come to Internet cafe just to download something and copy on pendrive. We recommend to use CafeSuite Recovery Module instead, which would simply remove all downloads after client reboot. Or simply enable option Allow executing only programs with links in Start Menu or Desktop, which will prevent customers from installing downloaded software.

However if you really want to block it, you can create the following disk restriction in CafeAgent settings on Disk restrictions page:

Rule name: No program download
Protection: Create & Write
Include file pattern: *.exe;*.msi;*.zip (prevent downloading setup files)
Exclude file pattern:
Include process pattern: iexplore.exe;firefox.exe;chrome.exe;opera.exe (just browsers)
Exclude process pattern:

Please don't put * as Include file pattern, because it would prevent browsers from working as they must write temporary files. You could also specify their respective Application Data directories in Exclude file pattern.
