Workstation properties

Workstation name - label used on the computer list.
Connect workstation - unselect this option for devices that are not connected to network. It is useful for adding virtual workstations to the list like laptops or game consoles.
Hostname or IP - IP address or hostname (computer13, for example) of the computer.

Remember that the Use hostnames instead of IP numbers option should be selected both in CafeStation and client software configuration if you want to use hostnames.

Group name - name of the group which the computer belongs to. Every group can have a different charging rate assigned. You can create new computer groups by entering their names into this field. Use Set default rates command from the List menu to assign charging rates to computer groups.
Workstation number - number used to locate the computer on the list. It's used by the Go to... command from the List menu.
Workstation alias - use this field to enter another name for the workstation, other than one used in the Workstation name field. It may be required by the printing control module in order to assign printout to the right computer. In most cases where's no need to fill in this field. If you experience problems with printouts being assighed to incorrect workstations, you should enter system name of the workstation (as seen when browsing Network Neighbourhood) here.
MAC address - enter the MAC address of the workstation's network card if you'd like to use the Wake up command from the Workstation menu to turn computers on remotely. There's no need to fill in this field, CafeStation should detect the MAC address of the workstation automatically.
Custom data - enter any additional information you'd like to assign to the workstation. It can be used as a parameter for external applications launched after certain events (%COMPPARAM% variable).
Game console - select this option if the workstation is in fact a game console. You can control up to eight consoles or similar devices (TVs, billiard tables, etc.) using a special relay board. Please see the Game consoles page in the configuration for details.
